Explore Shakespeare: online course at Learning Bubble

About this course

A single-day workshop that makes Shakespeare approachable. Students explore language, character and plot through performance and discussion, coming away with the confidence to read a play without fear.

What is included

  • One-day, low-commitment
  • Language decoded, not translated away
  • Performance and discussion based
  • Great prep for school set texts

Who this course is for

Ages 12–18, particularly students with a Shakespeare set text coming and no appetite for it.

What you will be able to do

  • Read Shakespearean language without panicking
  • Follow a plot through the language rather than a summary
  • Speak a passage aloud and make sense of it
  • Approach a set text with a method instead of dread

How the course is structured

  1. Morning: Decoding the language

Why it sounds difficult and the handful of patterns that unlock most of it.

  2. Afternoon: Performing a scene

A scene read, staged and discussed, because Shakespeare stops being difficult when it is spoken.

Frequently asked questions

It varies by group, and we choose based on what attendees have coming at school. Ask when you book.

They will read aloud. Nobody performs alone or is put on the spot.

Not systematically. It teaches the approach. Tell us the text and we will weave it in where we can.

How it runs

Live online · intensive: taught live, never pre-recorded, with sessions recorded afterwards so students can revisit anything they missed. Timings are arranged around school and time zones, and we reschedule when exams or travel get in the way.

Learning Bubble teaches online to students across Pakistan, Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, as well as the Gulf, the UK and North America. You will need a laptop or tablet with a working camera and a reasonably stable connection. If a course requires any materials at home, we send the list before the first session.
