About this course
A practical course introducing students to essential digital tools: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Learners get hands-on experience creating documents, presentations and simple spreadsheets while understanding the real-world purpose and correct use of each tool, building skills for school and well beyond.

Who this course is for
Ages 10–16 heading into years where school work is submitted digitally. Especially useful for students who can use a phone fluently but freeze in front of a spreadsheet.
What you will be able to do
- Structure a Word document with headings, styles and a contents page
- Build a presentation that supports a speaker instead of replacing them
- Use Excel formulas, sorting and basic charts
- Choose the right tool for a task instead of defaulting to one
How the course is structured
Sessions 1–2: Word
Styles, structure, tables and formatting that survives being reopened.
Sessions 3–4: PowerPoint
Slide design, and why most slides are doing the wrong job.
Sessions 5–6: Excel
Cells, formulas, sorting, filtering and charts, on data students care about.
Session 7: Put it together
One project that touches all three tools, as a real school task would.

No: the free web versions cover everything in the course. A desktop install is nicer but not required.
They can follow along, and most skills transfer. Some Excel specifics differ, and we point those out as they come up.
The Excel half rarely is. Most students at that age have never been taught formulas properly and find it the most useful part.

How it runs
Live online · small group: taught live, never pre-recorded, with sessions recorded afterwards so students can revisit anything they missed. Timings are arranged around school and time zones, and we reschedule when exams or travel get in the way.
